Despite its high price, the Swiffer PowerMop is one of the best mops we’ve ever used. It comes with two refill pads, a bottle of floor cleaner, and two batteries, so it can handle everything from crevices to hardwood floors.
We found this mop to be particularly effective on hardwood floors, absorbing stains in just two minutes. We averaged one to two sprays per stain. Cleaning butter required a few more rubs, but it wasn’t too cumbersome.
This mop is lightweight and portable. The mop head folds up for easy storage. While it doesn’t swivel, the mop head is long, flat, and narrow, so it can be mopped right up against furniture.
Its long handle also makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, though the cleaner bag occasionally gets in the way. Each mop pad has over 300 scrubbing strips to remove hard-to-see dirt in crevices and crevices.
Compared to the Swiffer WetJet, we found the PowerMop to be an improvement—it has a larger mop head, a more practical scrubbing bar, and a wider spray output. We found the spray mechanism easy to control—the longer you squeeze the trigger, the more it sprays—and the bottle of cleaning solution lasted surprisingly long.
After six months of use, this mop is still exceeding our expectations. It should be noted that it is not suitable for unpainted or waxed wood, as well as unsealed tile.
The process of replacing each mop head was very easy, and the Velcro stayed sticky while we cleaned. Each disposable mop pad costs $2, which may become a recurring expense depending on how often you use it. However, the low price of the mop itself may make up for this.
