The Bona Hardwood Floor Premium Spray Mop has all the hallmarks of a great mop: portable, effective, and easy to use. This mop did a great job cleaning hardwood floors, easily removing apple juice, ketchup, and dried-on dirt. It struggled a bit with oils and butter, though, pushing them around instead of soaking them up.
The gaps between the planks came out clean, though, proving the mop’s effectiveness. It even cleaned caulked tile effectively, though the dirt took a few more swipes to remove. We found the spray function to be intuitive—just pull the trigger on the side of the handle to spray the cleaner. The cleaner comes in a slim bottle that fits into the mop handle for easy storage.
At just 5.8 pounds, this mop is lightweight and portable, making it easy to move between rooms. Its flat mop head and swivel mop head made it easy to get around furniture and even against walls. We found it best for back-and-forth mopping, but the swivel handle allows for other maneuvers as well.
The mop pad is also thin enough to reach under tables and couches. The pads attach to the mop with Velcro, so they’re easy to attach and remove. Just make sure to peel off the Velcro slowly to avoid flying debris.
After six months of weekly use, this mop is still working great—the water spray is strong, the handle is intact, and it works just as well as it did on day one. We especially like that the pads are machine washable. Aside from some light debris embedded in the pad fibers after washing, they look like new.
