Pressure washers are perfect for jobs that traditionally require a bit of manual labour; whether it’s clearing algae from your patio or terrace, cleaning grimy garden furniture or giving your car a thorough wash. With warmer weather and more time outdoors, investing in a pressure washer is a no-brainer.
Now’s a great time to pick up the Karcher K2 Power Control Car and Home Pressure Washer, which has been reduced from £170 to £125 at Argos. It’s one of the brand’s smaller, more compact models, and comes with a 5m hose, but can cover an area of 20m².
It comes with a variety of attachments: two additional lances or nozzles that attach to the spray gun, one with adjustable pressure settings designed for different surfaces and the other, aptly called the ‘Dirtbuster’, which is a more concentrated spray.
Also included in the set is a patio cleaning attachment and a soft-bristled car wash brush, designed to help loosen and remove any dirt and gently clean your car without damaging the paintwork. Also included in the set is patio cleaning liquid and car wash liquid.
Argos is the cheapest place to find this deal right now, it’s also on sale on Amazon but it’ll cost you £172, money that could be better spent on more things for your garden.
The Kärcher K2 Power Control is compact and has wheels to make it easy to move around the garden and store away when not in use.
Customers who have bought this product have raved about its powerful performance, with one saying: “Cleans car and patio with ease. Easy to use. Very happy with this purchase.”
Another review added: “I bought this to replace my old K2. It’s smaller but just as powerful, but more compact and lighter. Works great.”
This Kärcher vacuum cleaner uses the brand’s ‘quick connect’ system, which means attachments snap on and don’t need to be tightened. I previously had an older K2 with the same quick connect system and I’m sure it’s really handy.
I’ve never had any problems changing the spray gun, but looking at some customer reviews I think it can sometimes go wrong. One customer wrote: “This Karcher vacuum cleaner is not easy to install and feels a bit plasticky. Leaky connections. Not as good as I expected. Used a lot of soap when washing the car. It was OK for washing the undercarriage, but it was disappointing to be honest.”
If you have the budget and need something with more power and a wider cleaning range, the Karcher K5 Power Control Car and Home Pressure Washer (2100W) is worth considering.
It has a more powerful motor, a 10m hose, a plug-and-play detergent system, and can be used both corded and cordless. It is currently reduced from £415 to £360 at Argos.
One reviewer said it cleaned their garden in “record speed” and was easier on their backs.
If you are on a budget, the Bosch Easy Aquatak 110 Pressure Washer is a good choice. With a 1300W motor and 110 bar pressure, this pressure washer is perfect for light to medium cleaning.
It is an ideal alternative to the Kähler K2 as it also comes with a variable flat nozzle and a swivel nozzle, making it ideal for cleaning terraces, garden furniture and even cars.
