The Street Sweeper Is Coming! The Street Sweeper Is Coming!

In addition to the Hitchin’ Post opening, a clear sign of spring in High River is the town’s street sweepers getting in on the action with spring cleaning.

Street sweeping will officially begin in Hampton and Sunshine Lakes next Monday. The town asks you to watch for parking ban signs, which will be posted 24 hours in advance.

They also ask that you sweep any gravel from your driveway to the curb so it can be easily swept by the street sweepers. We also ask that you do not put any gravel in the trash or recycling bins.

Once the gravel is swept up, it is cleaned by a rotating sifter and then added to road salt to create a pickling mixture for winter road polishing.
