Tennant Company, a company that designs and manufactures industrial cleaning systems, is launching its newest and largest autonomous floor cleaning machine, the T16AMR Robotic Floor Scrubber.
The company says the industrial-grade autonomous scrubber is “perfect for large facilities,” adding that it is the first of its kind.
It features a wider scrubbing path and larger water tank capacity, enabling continuous and efficient cleaning while reducing total cost of ownership. This is the third autonomous mobile cleaning machine (AMR) in Tennant’s product line and the industry’s first AMR built on an industrial floor scrubber platform.
The T16AMR Robotic Cleaner is the latest addition to Tennant’s world-class AMR family. The T16AMR ride-on robotic floor scrubber can operate in complex real-world environments without the need for direct operator control.
This means the T16AMR is always ready to clean—an especially valuable feature as staff shortages and increased cleaning protocols can overwhelm lean maintenance teams.
In addition to providing consistent and efficient floor cleaning, the T16AMR is connected via an onboard telemetry system that provides supervisors with notifications and weekly reports on route completion.
“Tennen Company understands the additional pressures our customers are under to ensure consistent cleaning with fewer resources. This is especially problematic for customers with larger facilities,” said David Strohsack, Vice President of Marketing at Tennant Company.
That’s why we’re introducing the T16AMR, our largest autonomous machine to date. It will help customers improve cleaning efficiency and maximize staff resources.

The T16AMR also reduces total cost of ownership with its rugged, industrial-grade platform and design, thoroughly cleans a variety of floor surfaces in a single pass, and is able to run multiple routes in a row without assistance. Its dual cylindrical brush heads easily clean and pick up fine debris, preventing streaks and reducing the need for pre-sweeping.
In addition, the T16AMR features eco-H2O NanoClean technology for detergent-free cleaning, which reduces or even eliminates chemical use. Onboard cameras, sensors and alarms help keep people safe around the machine. Long-range LIDAR, unique to Tennant AMRs, accommodates larger open spaces; and onboard diagnostics make maintenance troubleshooting a breeze.
“We worked hard to make the T16AMR easy to use and maintain,” said Bill Ruhr, senior product manager at Tennant Company. “With its intuitive controls, touchscreen and built-in learning center, training the T16AMR is a snap. Once you’re done, all you need to do to clean your floors is push the start button. Just show the machine where you want it cleaned and it’ll do it for you.”
You can repeat routes as needed for your work cycle, or connect multiple routes to maximize the AMR’s cleaning efficiency. The T16AMR ensures that cleaning jobs get done, and they get done consistently, even when no one is around. While there are still things to consider when it comes to cleaning, there are a lot fewer things to worry about.
Tennant introduced its first autonomous solution in 2018, the T7AMR scrubber. In 2020, Tennant introduced the T380AMR. This machine is perfect for tight spaces, with its ability to clean narrow aisles, tighter turns, and smaller U-turns. With the introduction of the T16AMR, Tennant now offers customers with a larger footprint a superior market solution.
The T16AMR, T380AMR, and original T7AMR are all powered by BrainOS, an advanced AI and robotics platform from Tennant partner Brain Corp.
“We are excited to see Tennant bring its third AMR powered by BrainOS to market. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of robotic cleaning innovation by combining best-in-class software technology with proven, world-class equipment,” said Dr. Eugene Izhikevich, CEO of Brain Corp.
Cleaning robots are clearly becoming the new business standard. With the new T16AMR, Tennant now offers autonomous solutions for spaces ranging from large industrial sites to small retail locations.
