Finding the best vacuum cleaner can be as tedious as cleaning itself. Personally? Cleaning is hell for me.
Every weekend, I fill up my phone’s endless cleaning to-do list, and every weekend, I cross off a few items on the “dust the TV cabinet” and “vacuum behind the fridge” lists and wipe away tears from my eyes. It’s so frustrating.
But the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI Ultra is different. I got this cordless vacuum cleaner to review last week, and my goodness, it’s the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used.
It’s kind of like half handheld vacuum cleaner, half robot vacuum cleaner. I really wish my apartment was covered in thick dust so I could enjoy the thrill of a thorough clean. Now let me tell you why it’s the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used.
Samsung claims that the Bespoke Jet AI Ultra vacuum cleaner is the “world’s most powerful upright vacuum cleaner,” and I think they have a point.
The Bespoke Jet AI Ultra has a maximum speed of 148,000 rpm, which is 13,000 rpm faster than the most powerful Dyson Gen5Detect I’ve ever used. The Bespoke Jet AI Ultra also has a “HexaJet motor,” which means it can reach 400 watts of power during use.
In practice, this means it’s a very powerful vacuum cleaner. Most vacuum cleaners have three power modes: “Auto,” “Minimum,” and “Maximum.” The Bespoke Jet AI Ultra has five power modes: “AI,” “Minimum,” “Medium,” “Maximum,” and “Jet.”
The Jet does exactly what you’d expect: It was able to remove stepped hair from my deep pile carpet in just a few seconds (using the Pet Tool attachment, which I’ll talk about later).
While AI mode only works with the Slim LED Brush or Active Dual Brush, I didn’t find it had any negative impact on my use. AI mode is an energy-saving mode: it analyzes your floors and debris to reduce power consumption and save battery.
I’ve tested a few vacuums before that impressed me effortlessly, but I wouldn’t give them more than four stars because they weren’t versatile enough to be the only vacuum in the house.
The Gtech AirRAM 3 is one such vacuum—powerful, but not innovative enough to justify its price.
Thankfully, the $1,099 Samsung Bespoke Jet AI Ultra is feature-rich. It has a wealth of accessories: a pet cleaning tool, dual brushes, an ultra-thin LED cleaning brush, and a host of the usual handheld tools, plus a flexible attachment.
It’s nearly impossible to stay clean without a handheld vacuum. I don’t know how I ever lived without one. For tasks like cleaning stairs, behind bathroom sinks, around refrigerators, and baseboards, nothing else can match a handheld vacuum. Not only does it take less effort, but it’s also faster than wiping with a cloth.
If you want a handheld vacuum combo, but the $1,099 Samsung vacuum is too expensive, I recommend the Ultenic U12 Vesla—I still have it, and it’s still working great nearly a year after I bought it.
The Samsung Bespoke AI Ultra Vacuum has the best of both an upright and a robot vacuum, with an automatic cleaning station.
The vacuum’s dust bin is only 16 ounces, but that’s not a problem, since the cleaning station itself holds a whopping 70 ounces. During my 10-day test period, I didn’t have to empty the station once.
Drum roll, here comes another bold claim from Samsung: The Bespoke Jet AI vacuum can answer phone calls. I use an iPhone, so I can’t test that.
But Samsung phone owners, does this convince you to buy a Samsung-branded vacuum, too? Imagine using your vacuum to answer calls from your doctor or your child’s teacher. (“Hello?”… “Eh!”)
I joke—answering calls while vacuuming is literally the last thing on my mind. Luckily, the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI does manage all of my priorities.
