This lightweight handheld steam cleaner is no toy. It looks a bit like a kettle, with a nozzle on the front and a large twist-on cap that keeps the steam pressure in. It also comes with a variety of brushes, scrapers, and cleaning pads that you can attach directly to the device or via the included extension hose.
This means that while it’s not ideal for cleaning floors, it can clean just about everything else, and it’s easier to store than a full-sized cleaner when not in use.
The SteamShot is small, but it produces powerful steam. The handheld design and plenty of accessories make it surprisingly versatile; I found it perfect for cleaning showers, ovens, and bathroom sinks, which larger cleaners would be difficult to maneuver.
While you can’t refill the machine until it cools down, I was able to clean for nearly 12 minutes with a full tank, and it made short work of dried-on ketchup, jam, and pancake mix. And it’s cheap.
Unfortunately… you have to wait a full 2 minutes and 40 seconds for the machine to heat up enough to produce steam, and holding down the trigger while cleaning can be a bit tiring. I also found that the machine could easily tip over if there was an attachment on the end of the hose.
