The Steam and Scrub is a steam mop with a difference. Instead of the usual static mop head paired with a microfiber towel pad, it features a pair of motorized mop heads that can spin up to 150RPM to scrub your floors with ease.
This not only gives you more power when you steam clean, but it also gives you more power when cleaning wood or laminate floors, which can be damaged by intense steam cleaning.
The mop has three different speed settings, and simply pulls the trigger on the handle to blast out a stream of hot, misty steam.
There’s little dirt, sludge, or grime that can withstand a steam scrub, and a single spin around the tile floor in a muddy utility room showed off its powerful vacuuming abilities.
It’s an incredibly sturdy mop that feels incredibly sturdy in the hand, but the articulated joint makes it surprisingly flexible, and the steam seems to increase in intensity as you repeatedly push it over stubborn stains.
The Shark comes with a pair of extra mop pads that feel like they’ll be blasting steam forever. Even after cleaning for 12 minutes and 30 seconds, it still had nearly half a tank of steam available.
Alas… the motor and rotating head make it a bit cumbersome than a normal steam mop, which can be a nuisance when you want to mop it into a corner or tuck it under a freestanding bathroom cabinet. The LED light does at least give you some direction, though.
Sometimes the spinning action seems to smear dirt all over the place, rather than simply mopping it clean. If that’s the case, another mop usually fixes the problem.
