Xiaomi has launched its new robot vacuum cleaner S40C, a model for global markets. The new smart home device has recently appeared on the brand’s global website, suggesting that it may be available in multiple countries in the coming weeks.
The robot vacuum cleaner S40C appears to be a cheaper model with a suction power of only 5,000 Pa. Users can choose between four modes, including silent and powerful. In addition, it is equipped with a mopping function and has three water volume levels. It uses LDS laser navigation technology to find the most efficient cleaning route in the home and has multiple built-in sensors to help prevent getting stuck. In addition, it comes with a 520 ml dust box, a 260 ml water tank and a 2,400 mAh battery that automatically recharges when the robot returns to the base.
You can control the robot remotely through the Mi Home app, which also lets you customize stored maps, mark off-limits and carpeted areas, and set cleaning schedules. Another way to start or stop the device is with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. The robot measures 340 x 340 x 97 mm (13.4 x 13.4 x 3.8 in), and the base measures 130 x 121 x 95 mm (5.1 x 4.8 x 3.7 in).
It remains to be seen when and where the Mi Robot Vacuum S40C will be available, and how much it will cost. For reference, the similar Mi Robot Vacuum S12 retails in Europe for €299.99 (€194 on Amazon Germany).
