Roborock F25 ACE Review: Designed for Everyday Household Chaos

by BERG

Roborock is at the forefront of the booming robot vacuum cleaner space, and its products are also suitable for mopping hard floors.

This eye-catching cordless upright wet and dry mop not only cleans hard floors, but also sucks up any dirt in its path, whether it is wet or solid.

Called the Roborock F25 ACE, it has so much technology that it’s hard to even begin to describe the cordless mop with its rapid-fire power.

In fact, with AI-powered electric wheels that can lie flat and even reach under the bed via remote control, the Roborock F25 ACE is perhaps the most high-tech hard floor cleaner to date. Let’s experience it.

There are five models in the Roborock F25 range, but only two come with the electric SlideTech 2.0 system – the F25 ACE and F25 Alt.

All of these models are being rolled out in phases around the world, so UK consumers may have to wait a while before they land in the UK.

If you’ve ever spilled a bowl of cereal or porridge – and who hasn’t? ——you’ll know how much of a hassle it can be to clean up. The usual approach is to grab a bunch of paper towels, a tea towel or a dustpan, but none of these methods are as efficient and hassle-free as just using a cordless wet and dry mop.

This cordless household cleaning helper has a rotating cylindrical mop and powerful suction to pick up all kinds of liquids, including cereal, wine, gravy, porridge, soup, vomit and more. Stains on hard floors one second, gone the next. It’s that simple.

When you’re done cleaning, just return it to the base and the entire mopping system will be thoroughly clean. You just pour the dirt into the toilet and give the dirty water tank a quick flush. You’re done.

The F25 ACE weighs 4.7kg, which is a bit heavy, but you won’t even notice it unless you’re carrying it up the stairs. All cordless wet and dry mops come with two water tanks – one for clean water and one for dirty stuff.

Additionally, some models come with a separate detergent tank, while others require you to measure out a capful of floor cleaner and add it to the main tank.

This model ticks all the boxes, with a 740ml clean water tank, a 720ml dirty water tank, and a separate 100ml detergent tank (the Roborock comes with a 200ml bottle of floor cleaner).

The F25’s clean water tank is cleverly mounted just above the floor spray head, unlike most other models, which typically have both tanks mounted in the main housing.

Having at least one tank flush with the floor means a lower center of gravity for easier maneuverability, and a more compact body for reaching under beds and sofas.

The F25 ACE’s cylindrical towel mop is 25cm long, with just 6mm of clearance on either side for close-to-edge cleaning.

The rear of the drum mop has a comb to separate hair from the drum, where it is sucked into the dirty water tank along with other debris.

Like the high-end range of Roborock robot vacuums, the F25 ACE boasts a suction power of up to 20,000 Pascals.

On top of the device, beneath the ergonomic multi-grip handle, there’s a shiny round display showing the four cleaning modes – Eco, Auto, Extreme and Sponge.

Sponge mode is a vacuum mode designed for collecting liquid spills. You can switch between these modes via the circular arrow button just behind the main power button.

The product is equipped with a DirTect module that detects the degree of dirt during cleaning and adjusts the suction power and water consumption as needed. DirTect also determines the optimal self-cleaning intensity after the vacuum cleaner is placed on the charging dock.

The F25 ACE has a runtime of about 40 minutes in Auto mode and about 60 minutes in Energy Saving mode.

That’s more than enough time for all but a thorough spring cleaning of a mansion.

Like all good cordless mops, the F25 ACE comes with a dedicated mop-cleaning dock that also charges the device when not in use. The dock is deeper than the bucket of a regular mop, but is compact enough to be unnoticeable when placed in its place.

In fact, the dock of the F25 ACE both charges and cleans the mop when you place it back in the dock. Simply press the self-cleaning button on the top of the mop handle and the mop will spin back and forth while using efficient 90˚C water to clean.

Afterwards, it uses hot air to quickly dry the cleaned but slightly damp mop, killing 99.99% of bacteria and preventing mold and odor growth between uses.

In addition to the dock’s mop-cleaning capabilities, I was particularly impressed by how conveniently designed the charging port on the F25 ACE is. Some models I’ve tested have a poorly designed dock port that makes it difficult to align the mop’s electrical contacts for charging.

This was no problem with this one, as I never had any issues placing the mop in the dock – it charged without a hitch every time.

I don’t recall seeing any mops, or even cordless vacuums, with powered wheels, but this one does. Roborock’s SlideTech 2.0 system features brushless motors on each wheel and is controlled by AI-enhanced technology, which activates like an electric-assisted bicycle whenever sensors sense forward or backward motion by the user.

So, whenever you push or pull the mop, the wheels instantly provide a level of self-propulsion that feels so natural you’ll wonder if you’ve grown biceps again.

In fact, it’s easy to push and pull the robot with just one finger—it just feels that light. The adjustable power system also works for cornering, allowing the F25 ACE to easily maneuver around furniture with a 70-degree turn. You can adjust the strength and responsiveness of the intelligent active drive wheels in the Roborock app.

Given Roborock’s expertise in robotic vacuums, the F25 ACE’s drive system can also be remotely controlled via the Roborock app, allowing it to be driven forward, backward, and partially sideways. This feature is useful if your bed is too long for the mop to fully reach.

If you look closely at the back of the handle, you’ll see a small wheel. When the entire handle assembly is laid flat, this wheel makes contact with the floor, allowing the F25 ACE to roll frictionlessly across the floor.

So if your bed is on a hard floor, you can place the unit at the end of the bed and easily rotate it a few degrees left and right, forward and backward, like a remote control car, so it can mop the entire floor without you having to kneel down.
