As a shopping writer, I’m always trying out the latest gadgets to see if they’re worth the hype. I’ve tried a pool cleaning robot and tested this bed vacuum, but when Bissell first sent me the Little Green Mini Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner, I didn’t have much to try. At the time, nothing. The “real” test came when it got really dirty, and, boy, did it.
Tuesday morning, the unexpected happened. A flick of my wrist and my matcha green tea (with a light lavender foam) was spilled everywhere—except the cup it came in. I panicked and reached for paper towels, but I didn’t need them. What I needed was Bissell’s latest Little Green Mini, and luckily, I had that little steam cleaner.
The matcha smell was everywhere—on the table, the chairs, the hardwood floors, even the dining room chair cushions, my dog’s bed, the blankets, and—let’s be honest—my Ugg Tasmans. This was the ultimate test for the Little Green Mini. Here are the results.
First, the Little Green Mini is currently on sale with coupon code “ SPRINGCLEAN2025 .” After hearing my matcha horror story, you’ll want to get one ASAP.
Weighing in at just 7 pounds and holding a whopping 16 fluid ounces of water, the Mini easily removed bright green matcha stains from my dog bed, blanket, and seat cushions. On the light gray/beige chair cushions, it took several passes to completely remove the stain, but light to medium scrubbing with water and Little Green Stain Remover removed the stain in less than seven minutes. The green mark was gone, and while it only took a little effort, the results were definitely worth it.
So, will it save my Ugg slippers? Once stained or rained on, Ugg slippers are nearly impossible to save, as the sheepskin fabric easily absorbs water, salt, grease, and oil. I’ve never been able to successfully remove stains from a pair of Uggs myself, and they’re notoriously difficult to clean, so much so that the company won’t recommend anything other than pre-blotting the stains and spraying them with stain repellent. You can’t throw them in the washing machine, either, so you don’t have much of a choice.
But I’m about to surprise you—at least, a little bit. Spoiler alert: My Uggs didn’t fully recover. I don’t want to get your hopes up, but—and this is a big deal—the Little Green Mini did remove some stains. It removed two of the six water stains. It’s not perfect, but it’s still impressive considering how difficult Uggs are to clean. The Little Green Mini removed the biggest stain, so at least now that the most noticeable stain is gone, I can feel more comfortable wearing it.
After cleaning all the affected upholstery, I picked up the CrossWave OmniForce vacuum and started cleaning the hardwood floors. It made quick work of two passes, even picking up the debris left over from the broken glass straw.
Overall, I was very pleased with how well the Little Green Mini worked on removing stains from my chair cushions, rugs, and dog bed. While it didn’t quite get a perfect 5 out of 5 for cleaning my Ugg slippers, I still give it the highest rating and highly recommend it out of 10.
